1957
Born in suburban Cincinnati.
1961-68
Launches first room revolution: Barbie Dream Mansion built into her walk-in closet. Barbie very enthusiastic about her new digs. Mom not so sure, as there is a doll spa where her shoe cabinet used to be.
1969-75
Meets lifelong mentor, art teacher Mrs. Dorothy Dobbins and spends rest of high school career in the art room.
1973
Takes up sensual welding ten years before Flashdance. Likes the macho feel of the welding iron, and becomes obsessed with creating massive metal sculptures from scraps of old farm machinery found on the family farm. Alarmed family suggests safety goggles, and college.
1976-78
Attends San Francisco Art Institute as a welder and earns a BFA in sculpture. During off hours, masters the art of chopsticks. Family suggests more college.
1979
Becomes fascinated with mixing mediums and decides to move to NYC and become an independent filmmaker.
1979-82
Earns a flashy and deeply legitimizing MFA in film from New York University. Thesis film Bachelorette Pad premieres at Patti Astor’s flashy and deeply legitimizing Fun Gallery in the East Village. Keith Haring and Fab 5 Freddy very impressed. Decides to shoot for the stars.
1982
Moves to Los Angeles to become a big shot. Spends inappropriate amounts of time clubbing and waiting for a handsome movie star to propose… He doesn’t.
1983-86
Develops Bachelorette Pad as an ABC sitcom. Family still slightly suspicious, but calls off intervention.
1987
Gets big break writing and producing autobiography about LA club life called, Modern Girls starring real live movie stars Virginia Madsen, Daphne Zuniga and Cindy Gibb.
1988-91
Gets really big break writing and directing the cult classic chick flick, Assault of the Killer Bimbos starring Griffin O’Neal and Nick Cassavetes. Start planning life as major player but spends next five years in development hell instead.
1992
Chasing-the-carrot-on-the-stick syndrome sets in, followed by total disillusionment with the biz, which is not even alleviated by long lunch with George Clooney.
1992-94
Decides to get a life already, and launches a hand-painted furniture business out of her basement in the Hollywood Hills. Fred Segal places big fat order. Ditto Nordstrom Department Stores. Hollywood malaise beginning to recede.
1994-96
Orders pour in. Staff starts looking exhausted.
1996
Expands staff and hatches plan for movin’ on up to a deluxe showroom in the sky, or at least up and out of the basement.
1996-98
A blur of trade shows and wet paint brushes as business booms and line is carried in over 1,000 stores nationwide.
1999
Takes first solo trip to mainland China to oversee factory production on Fall collection, and earns reputation as the only white girl crazy enough to travel up the Pearl River wearing Versace.
2000
Becomes regular guest on The Christopher Lowell Show, The Kitty Bartholomew Show and The Carol Duval Show.
2001
Crowned the Queen of Painted Furniture. Writes The Art of Painted Furniture for Sterling, which is also released in paperback as Fanciful Furniture. Anita Rosenberg designs featured on the sets of Friends, Everybody Loves Raymond and Sabrina the Teenage Witch.
2001
Decides to go global. Travels solo to Bali, Cambodia and Thailand for starters. Design sense flourishes.
2002-03
Inspired by travel, embarks on a search for deeper meaning, and earns a degree from the Western School of Feng Shui and an advanced degree in Feng Shui for Real Estate.
2004
Carves out a new niche working with realtors to maximize profit potential on commercial and residential properties through Feng Shui design. Begins writing feature articles for magazines including Romantic Homes, LA Confidential, and is the Feng Shui master for inWedding out of Hong Kong. Begins accepting frequent offers for public speaking engagements despite initial case of butterflies.
2005-?
Unleashes passion on the world becoming the Feng Shui princess of Hollywood, taking on such celebrity clients as Virginia Madsen, Julie Brown, Denise Crosby, Fred Savage, Krista Smith, (South Coast editor of Vanity Fair) and the Aspen Back Institute. Finally learns that having it all means being happy right here, right now, and achieving balance in all things.
