Shopping for Nirvana
Inside this deck find 52 SHOPPING FOR NIRVANA IN MACHU PICCHU & GALAPAGOS spirited adventures. Nirvana is about the objects you collect, the people you meet and the experiences you have. It is my first trip to South American and I have no idea what to expect.
Famous Machu Picchu and the Galapagos Islands are on my dad's bucket list and at age 83 it is time to check them off. Joining us are my brother, his Aussie wife and their 3 teenage sons. My mother opts out and in fact, the "fashion show" of Peruvian sweaters on the train from Machu Picchu would have been her only favorite part. In hindsight, my dad should not have been given the task of arranging the trip. He does not realize how difficult it will be to get to those two destinations. Even though our trusty travel agent warns him to add more down time and extra days to enoy the moments in between, he wants to get there and get home.
So begins a family trip on steriods; 9 plane rides in 10 days. These are our adventures. Let the journey begin!
"We start in the Galapagos Islands to meet lumbering tortoises, splashing sea lions,
sun basking iguanas, and flirty birds called Boobies. Then off to Machu Picchu
to sip lethal coca tea, discover the secret lives of Inca Warriors, and take selfies
with furry llamas. Don't forget your adventure gear. Best family trip ever!"
The idea for my travel card deck came to me in 2000 on my first trip to Hong Kong. At the posh store Shanghai Tang the only items I could afford at the time were the green tea room spray and a colorful deck of cards depicting sights in the city. I thought it was so clever and much easier than carrying a heavy book. It was then and there I dreamed of one day designing my own deck of travel cards with my photographs and travel insights. Many years later Shopping for Nirvana was born so I invite you to share in my passion for culture, spirituality, meeting new people, and having new experiences with my card decks.
carry this travel deck with you while traveling to Machu Picchu and Galapagos for stories, where to go, what to do and fun photos
